This course is designed to provide training for giving medical care to patients in the pre-hospital setting. The course will offer instruction and practical experience for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for certification and practice as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) in Kansas.
This course is designed to give students the knowledge and skills needed to provide emergency care using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED).
Prerequisite: EMT-B Certification

The course will offer instruction and practical experience for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for certification and practice as an Advance Emergency Medical Technician- (AEMT) in Kansas.
This course is designed to introduce students to different Health Careers and opportunities. Students will learn a broad set of standards that include the knowledge and skills that the vast majority of health care workers should have.
This course is a continuation of Introduction to Health Careers I.
This course is designed to train individuals who are paid by a facility to feed residents of an adult care home or who is used under an arrangement with another agency or organization. A paid nutrition assistant will provide assistance with eating to residents of an adult care home based on minimum data set assessment of functional capacity screening, and the resident's current care plan or negotiated service agreement. The paid nutrition assistant will provide assistance with eating to residents without complicated feeding problems. These services will be provided under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse on duty in the facility.

Prerequisite: Program Coordinator Approval
This course is based on the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Certified Nurse Aide Curriculum Guidelines (90 Hours) and prepares individuals to take the State certification exam. The course focuses on the responsibilities of the nurse aide working as a member of the health team in caring for residents of long-term care facilities. The course includes basic anatomy and physiology, communication skills, measurement of vital signs, and procedures to help meet the hygiene, nutrition, and rehabilitation needs of older individuals. Students who successfully complete this course and pass the State exam will be qualified to become a practicing Kansas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
Prerequisite: Program Coordinator Approval
Trains Certified Nursing Assistants to acquire an understanding of the responsibilities associated with drug administration and to be aware of drug reference resources and uses of reference resources. Procedures for checking the patient's condition and for preparing, giving, and recording medications are included.

Provides continued certification for the Certified Medication Aide.
This course provides additional knowledge and experience intended to advance existing nursing skills and competencies. The course will focus on the skills needed by the certified nurse aide in the acute care setting.
