After starting out the game down 6-2, the nationally ranked Highland Community College women’s basketball team went on a 24-6 run to go ahead 30-8 and never looked back as the Scotties beat the Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott by a score of 106-49.
The Scotties were up 58-23 at the half, and the game was never closer in the second half. "I was pleased with some of the things we did offensively, but we are having a hard time being consistent on the defensive end,"' said Highland Head Coach BJ Smith.
The Scotties were led in scoring by Carina Jackson (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with 25 and had six players in double figures. TaMiya Green (Lawrence) had her third double double of the season with 21 points and 15 rebounds.
The Scotties were off for Thanksgiving and are back in action on Tuesday, November 27, in the friendly confines of Allen Field House as they face Region foe Brown Mackie College for a 5:30 tipoff.
