Joshua North, Director of Financial Aid at Highland Community College, was recently named by the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators as a Rising Star within the organization. The award is given to individuals with less than five years of experience who have demonstrated quality performance, shows promise for future contributions and displays a passion for their work.
When speaking about the award North said, “I’m fairly new to the organization but during that time I have made it a priority to volunteer, present at conferences and share my skills and experience with others just starting out. I’ve taught at two regional summer institutes and plan to continue.”
North has been at Highland for just over three years. “Financial Aid is a complicated part of the student process and it is my pleasure to serve students and help them navigate the process. Helping other professionals learn at the same time is the best way to share my passion.”
