Newton, who was born in Jamaica and now lives in Sedan, is a practicing attorney and will have another year as the KBOR chair. Prior to becoming KBOR president, Flanders served as vice president for workforce development for KBOR, and was instrumental in the development of the Kansas Postsecondary Technical Education Authority.
