Four Highland Community College personal trainer students recently passed the National Exam for Personal Training Certification. Along with their AS/AA degree diplomas, these graduates are now Certified Personal Trainers through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. The National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) is a professional, member-driven, education and credentialing organization for personal trainers and exercise science professionals and is partnered with HCC and the Personal Fitness Trainer Program led by Angie Eberly.
Chris Egger of Andover will continue his education and baseball career at Kansas Newman University where he would like to work as a personal trainer while completing a BS in Physical Therapy.
Tom Martin, St. Joseph, MO, currently holds two personal training certifications and will pursue a personal trainer career. Martin is currently putting his personal trainer skills to use helping at the Walters Wellness Center at the HCC campus. He would like to finish his degree at Missouri Western University in Exercise Science.
Atchison native Jeremiah Rasdall is undecided where he will pursue his career, but would like to work as a trainer and continue his education in Physical Education.
Terence Venniro, Princeton, KS, has three job offers to work as a certified trainer in Topeka. Venniro will also continue his education at Washburn University to obtain a degree in Exercise Science.
