Highland Hires Nursing Director

Jane Zaccardi is the new Director of Nursing at the Highland Community College Technical Center in Atchison.  Zaccardi comes to the College from Stratford Commons Rehabilitation in Overland Park where she was Director of Nursing Services for a 45 bed sub-acute rehabilitation center.  Prior to Stratford, Zaccardi was Director of Health Occupations and Practical Nursing programs at Johnson County Community College.  In addition, she has been a self-employed staff development consultant, Director of Nursing for Acute Rehabilitation at Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital in Gardner, and a variety of leadership positions at several other healthcare facilities.

Zaccardi has all but her dissertation for an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Baker University, an MA in Nursing from New York University, a BSN from Rutgers University, and an RN diploma from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Jersey City, NJ.  She served as an ambassador for the National League of Nursing (NLN) and completed the NLN LEAD program.  She will become a member of the Board of Directors of the Santa Marta Retirement Community in January.

Zaccardi began her new role at the College on November 7 and will be working with Cynthia Jacobson, who is retiring from the position, for a period of transition.
