Scholarships Awarded to Doniphan County Students

On April 10 Doniphan County high school seniors and their families were invited to a special open house on the campus of Highland Community College. The evening event featured tours of campus, college-readiness sessions and a dessert reception where 2 students were drawn as winners of $1000 scholarships from business owners in Doniphan County.

 

Barbara Ernzen, a senior at Troy High School, Troy, KS won a $1000 scholarship sponsored by Pierce Heating & Cooling of Bendena, KS.

Haley Miller, a senior at Riverside High School, Wathena, KS won a $1000 scholarship sponsored Consumer Oil & Propane of Bendena & Atchison.

“Doniphan County is home for Highland Community College, and we like to be able to give back to our community. We’d also like to thank local businesses Consumer Oil and Propane and Pierce Heating and Cooling for their support of our students and mission,” said Stephanie Peterson, Director of Admissions at HCC.
